One of the major advantages of using the Business Central ERP system in the Cloud is that users gain immediate access to new functionalities. For example, with the Business Central version released in the fall of 2024 — officially named “Dynamics 365 Business Central 2024 release wave 2″— over 70 Power BI reports are available for free.
Microsoft Power BI is a cloud-based analytics and reporting platform that enables data transformation into intuitive reports, charts, and dashboards that are easy to use. Since it is fully integrated with Business Central, Power BI helps you make better business decisions.
To get an overview of the new reports, you can navigate in Business Central to the Role Center menu and select the “All Reports” option:
This will open a page displaying all available reports in Business Central, grouped by the application’s functional areas. Power BI reports have dedicated sections, making them easy to identify.
In the latest version of Business Central, new Power BI reports have been added in the following functional areas:
- Finance (19 reports)
- Sales (12 reports)
- Purchasing (12 reports)
- Inventory (12 reports)
- Projects (8 reports)
- Manufacturing (12 reports)

At the beginning of this article, we explained how to access all Power BI reports in Business Central. However, in daily operations, users will most likely access reports directly from their assigned Role Center. For example, in the image below, you can see the reports available in the “Business Manager” Role Center.
If you are using the Microsoft Cloud version of Business Central, accessing Power BI reports requires configuring a connection between Business Central and Power BI. This setup can be handled by our support department.
